the music.

The first instrument on my list to learn was guitar. Luckily I didn’t need to by one but the one I had needed all new strings and accessories so off to Allens I went.

Does anyone else get as excited as I do about a trip to Allens or Billy Hyde?

Ok imagine this: a shopping centre/big place with…

  • Allens/Billy Hyde
  • Ikea
  • Bunnings
  • Gloria Jeans
  • JB
  • Safeway
  • Kmart
  • Cinema/Bowling Bar
  • Subway
  • and a fully equipped gym.

Wouldn’t that be the best place ever?

Anyway back to the real story - Rachel and I went to allens, bought strings, capo, picks. Sat on a bench out in the street and re-strung the broken strings. Went back inside the store to the piano section to tune the guitar then found the most expensive pianos and played them. Then we leafed through all the awesome sheet music books, drooled over the trumpets/saxs, Rach played violin went back to the pianos for a bit, ventured downstairs and checked out the hundreds of guitars before FINALLY leaving.

I think we spent about an hour there :)

So this is my guitar - it’s reaaaaaally old and unfortunately couldn’t put steel strings on it but its still cool! Guess which strings are new…
